Hello crafty friends and welcome back to the blog; today I have a super cute and fun Halloween card to share with you kicking off day 1 of this years Halloween Card series! I adore Halloween and always have. And I adore a fun stamp set and pattern paper. Both of which I found from Newton's Nook Designs Candy Corn Newton Stamp Set and Halloween Time Pattern Paper.
Candy Corn Halloween Card:
For my card I stamped Newton in his little candy corn outfit in Intense Black Ink (from Hero Arts) onto Hammermill Smooth 100 lbs Cardstock. I let the ink dry and colored it with my Olo markers. I then used the matching die to cut out the colored image. The image was so easy and fun to color. I do want to remind you that when you color white you are coloring the shadows. White has color it's not devoid of color.
For my design I based it off the most recent Inky Paws Challenge 231. The sketch for this challenge was so fun to play with and I can see it being used for many different occasions or themes.
I used three patterns of paper from the Halloween Time Pattern Paper Pad. I picked three patterns that worked well together. And they all added a fun playful feel to the design. And I had to use the candy corn pattern because of cute little Newton in his Halloween outfit.
Below I have listed out all the olo markers that I used to color up Newton. I wanted to give you that resource, so you could see what color combos I used.
Below you will find a video tutorial on how I created the card. I walk you step by step through the coloring and how to put the card together.
