Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing my first video as a member of the Pixi Dust Designs' Video and Design Team member. For my first video I created a love you card using the Unicorn Mug Dies and products in my stash. In my Video I talk about an easy way to get more dimension from your single layer die cuts.
Easy Card Making Hack: Adding Dimension to Single Layer Die Cuts | Pixi Dust Designs
My Card today features the Unicorn Mug Dies (from Pixi Dust Designs). I was super happy how easy the dies from Pixi Dust was to work with. I love how they are designed to cut some pieces from one die in the. set. I also love how easy they were to put together. There are etched lines in some of the die cuts so you know where to line things up.

The main of the unicorn has six differnt pieces. One cuts out the base piece in whole. And then the layering pieces are all different dies. They allow you to cut out each piece in differnt shades. There is also a full color photo on the back of each package to help you put the die cuts together.
When I set down to create this card I found it easiest to cut all the pieces out from each color of cardstock at one time. There little flowers and their centers are all on one die. So it was super was to cut out all the different colored flowers.
The colors for my card actaully go along with this month's Pixi Dust Design Color Challenge. After assembling the unicorn mug I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Meandering Floral Embossing Folder (from Spellbinders). This was the embossing folder of the month in November. I subscribe to two of their monthly culbs, the Embossing Folder of the Month Club and the Stamps And Dies of the Month Club. It's super reasonable, I pay less than $35 for both of these clube plus shipping. And they have lots of clubs to. pick from.
Once I had the embossing completed I did an ombre ink blend over the embossing using Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, and Raspberry Bliss Inks from PInkfresh Studio.
To add the dimension to the single layer die cuts I used Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke Distress Inks.
