Hello and welcome back to the blog; today I am sharing the project for day 4 of my Spooky & Sweet Halloween Series this year! Today's project is a gift box idea that's perfect for masculine gifts and can be used as a home decor item as well. Today I am featuring the Grandfather Clock Gift Box Dies and the Grandfather Clock Halloween Add On Die Set both from Pixi Dust Designs.
Grandfather Clock Gift Box:
The Grandfather Clock Gift Box Die Set from Pixi Dust Designs is a large die set. The Grandfather Clock Gift Box Die Set contains about seventeen or eighteen dies used to create the grandfather clock. This box is a good size box and is about 6" tall and a little over 2" wide. I cut the layers for the box in two different shades of brown cardstock. This way I could have a little variation in color to the box. But you could cut it from anything you would like. Other Pixi Dust Design Team Members cut some of the layers from pattern paper instead of cardstock; which turned out so cute. So it's super customizable to the person your are making it for or your home decor.
Once I had all the parts and pieces cut out I started the assembling process. It was super easy to put together. I did use liquid glue to put the box together. You could use tear and tape but I found it easier to use liquid glue to move the pieces and parts just into the right place. But that's going to be up to you; on what's your adhesive of choice.
Once I had the grandfather clock gift box put together I started working on the sign for Halloween that I was going to hang from the side. For this sign I used the Grandfather Clock Halloween Add On Die Set. I only used the witches hat, spider, bats and the sentiment from the die set to decorate my sign. There's also a ghost and jack-a-lantern bucket die in the set as well that I didn't use today. For the hat, bats and sentiment I used a piece of pattern paper from the Willow Lane Pattern Paper Pad (from SBC).
Make sure when you are putting the sign together that you line up the two pack pieces to the holes in the hanger before assembling. You will see in the video tutorial below that I had to redo mine because I didn't think about that at the time. I also think that the decorative elements that I used today would be super cute in black glitter cardstock. But I didn't think about that until after I had everything made and was taking my photos. There will be more add on die sets coming to go along with the Grandfather Clock Gift Box Die Set so that you can change up the sign hanging from the side.
So you will want to make sure to keep your eyes open for those dies as well. But all in all I had a great time creating my project today. And with the addition of the Grandfather Clock Halloween Add on Dies it was a perfect project to add in for this years Halloween Series. You can find all of the projects here and on my YouTube Channel if you missed any of this years projects.
