Bringing Harry Potter to Life

For this card, I stamped the iconic Harry Potter image from the Wizard World Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White 80 lbs Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. This ink is a favorite of mine because it provides a crisp, clear impression that's perfect for coloring. I then colored Harry using Spectrum Noir TriBlend Brush Markers. These markers are fantastic for their versatility and ease of blending, which makes achieving those intricate details a breeze. A quick tip: When fussy cutting your images, like I did with Harry, using Cutter-bee Scissors ensures precise cuts and clean lines.

Crafting the Perfect Card Base

For the card base, I chose Neenah Solar White Ultra Thick Cardstock, which adds a substantial feel to the card, making it feel special from the moment it’s opened. The inside of the card features the sentiment “Make Your Own Magic,” stamped with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide Ink. This ink offers a rich, vibrant color that complements the Wizard World papers beautifully. To add a bit of flair, I also included a strip of the Wizard World 6 x 6 Pattern Paper at the top of the card's interior—little touches like these can really make your card stand out!

Designing the Card Front

Now, let’s talk about the card front. I cut a piece of the Wizard World 6 x 6 Pattern Paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and matted it onto Black Glitter Paper, cut to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". This layer of black glitter paper not only adds a touch of sparkle but also helps the pattern paper pop. For a balanced design, I added a second strip of the pattern paper (2" x 5 1/4") matted with black glitter paper (2 1/8" x 5 3/8") to the left side of the card.

Adding the Hidden Message

The Peek A Boo Tags C Dies are the star of this project. I used these dies to create a hidden message tag from the Wizard World 6 x 6 Pattern Paper and Neenah Solar White 80 lbs Cardstock. Assembling the tag with a black glitter tag topper adds a bit of sophistication and magic to the reveal. The sentiment “Have a Magical Day” was stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink for its bold and crisp finish. When attaching the tag to the card front, I placed it in the top right corner to draw attention without overpowering the rest of the design.

Final Touches

To complete the card, I attached my stamped and colored Harry to the bottom left corner of the card front using 2mm Foam Tape. This adds dimension and makes Harry pop against the patterned paper. For the final touch, I used a White Gel Pen to add highlights to Harry, giving him a bit of extra sparkle and life.
