Stamping and Embossing the Main Image

To start, I stamped the Morning Glories image from the Build a Garden Morning Glories Stamp Set using WOW! Ultra Slow Drying Ink. This ink is perfect for embossing as it stays wet longer, giving you plenty of time to add your embossing powder.

Next, I covered the stamped image with WOW! Platinum Embossing Powder. Watching that powder melt into a shiny, smooth finish is always so satisfying! I then heat set the embossing powder until it was completely smooth and melted.

Pro Tip: When heat setting, make sure to keep your heat tool moving to avoid overheating any one area, which can cause the paper to warp.

Adding Color with WOW! Trio Candy Buffet

Now comes the fun part—adding color with the WOW! Trio Candy Buffet Embossing Powder! Using my WOW! Embossing Pen, I selectively added ink to each flower. The pen gives you great control, making it easy to color just where you want.

I applied each color from the WOW! Trio Candy Buffet: Fairy Clouds, Rock Crystals, and Grapefruit Fizzo. Heat setting each section individually, I watched as the colors blended beautifully, creating a magical effect. It’s like painting with embossing powders, and the results are just stunning!

Embossing the Leaves and Stems

For the leaves and stems, I used my WOW! Embossing Pen again to add ink to each section. This time, I chose colors from the WOW! Trio Dappled Pearl Effects and added some Primary Evergreen Embossing Powder for variety. Heat setting each section until smooth and melted added depth and a touch of whimsy to the foliage.

Pro Tip: When working with multiple colors of embossing powder, use a small, clean paintbrush to gently remove any stray powders before heat setting. This helps keep your colors crisp and clean.

Assembling the Card

With the main image ready, I used the coordinating die to cut it out. To create the background, I added a fence design onto Pitch Black Cardstock with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink using the coordinating stencil from the stamp set. The contrast between the bright flowers and the black background really makes the design pop!

Next, I layered the die-cut flower on top of the black cardstock card front with foam adhesive to give it some dimension. I love how the flowers stand out against the dark background, creating a dramatic effect.

Adding the Sentiment

To finish off the card, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment with WOW! Pastel Pink Embossing Powder. After heat setting the sentiment until it was smooth and melted, I used the coordinating die to cut it out. The pastel pink sentiment adds a sweet, finishing touch to the card.

Final Touches and Tips

Make sure all elements are securely adhered to avoid any pieces falling off later. You can also add a few embellishments like sequins or rhinestones for extra sparkle if you’d like. Every detail counts when creating a masterpiece!

Pro Tip: Experiment with different color combinations of embossing powders to create unique effects. Don’t be afraid to mix and match to find what you love!
