Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun little card to share with you featuring the Altenew Parrot Tulips Build-A-Flower Stamp Set. I have always been a big fan of Altenew products and love their Build-A-Flower Series. If you have followed me for any length of time you know I love flowers. I cannot grow them but by George I can stamp them.
On my card today I only used two of the layering images from the Parrot Tulips Build-A-Flower Stamp Set. I used the most detailed image from the stamp set and the next to solid layering image to add just a hint of color to the flowers. I also repeated that same process with the leaves as well. I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar 80 lb. Cardstock before adding it to the 4 1/4" x 11" card base which was cut from the 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. You can use whatever smooth white cardstock you may have.
I used Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink for the black ink and then the pink is their Frosty Pink Crips Dye Ink. I wanted something that would add some contrast to the card but still add a hint of color. For the color on the leaves I used Frayed Leaf Crisp Dye Ink and a Blending Brush to soften some areas of the image so I would have a little lighter green on the leaves as well. All these colors can be purchased in their full size ink pads from their website or you can get the cubes in the Floral 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set (which is what I have.)
I also added a little ink splatter to my card in the Frayed Leaf and Frosty Pink colors by adding the ink cubes to my acrylic block and then adding a little water with my paint brush. I then just flicked the colors from the block to the card front. I finished off the card by adding my sentiment stamped in Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink and the sub sentiment stamped onto a scrap of Blushing Bride Cardstock (from Stampin' Up!).
I am not affiliated with the company but love their floral images so I had to have a play with this gorgeous stamp set on this clean and simple card. I hope you have a wonderful day, and Happy Stampin'
