Materials and Products:

For this project, I used some of my favorite products from Pixi Dust Designs, including the Pull Out Gift Box Dies, It's Your Birthday Stamp Set, It's Your Birthday Pixi Cuts, and the Bella Flowers 6 x 6 Paper Pad. These tools and materials are essential in creating a cohesive and beautifully designed gift box.

Cutting the Pieces:

To start, I cut the box pieces from the Pull Out Gift Box Dies using a couple of pieces of pink cardstock. Pink is always a safe bet for a cheerful, festive look, but feel free to choose any color that suits your theme! The layering pieces were cut from the Bella Flowers 6 x 6 Paper Pad, which adds a lovely floral touch, and two pieces from white smooth cardstock for a clean, crisp contrast.

Assembling the Box:

The assembly might seem daunting at first, but I promise it’s straightforward once you get into it. I’ve put together a video tutorial to guide you through each step. Following along with the video will make the process smooth and enjoyable. Trust me, seeing the box come together piece by piece is incredibly satisfying.

Decorating the Front:

Now, the fun part—decorating! I stamped and colored images from the It's Your Birthday Stamp Set, choosing the adorable cupcake, party hat, and present images. For stamping, I used Neenah Solar White 80 lbs Cardstock and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, which are perfect for crisp, clean images. Coloring these images with my Triblend Brush Markers from Spectrum Noir was a blast. The vibrant colors really bring the images to life.

Pro Tip:

When coloring stamped images, I like to use a Clear Overlay Glitter Brush Pen to add a bit of sparkle. It’s a simple step that makes a big difference, giving your project a magical, glittery finish. A few white gel pen highlights with my White Bold Gelly Roll Pen; can add dimension and detail, making your images pop even more. Don’t forget to darken the eyes with a Black Sakura Gel Pen—it’s a small touch, but it really makes the faces come alive.

Adding Sentiments:

I added sentiments to two of the stitched rectangle pieces. One was placed on the outside front of the box lid, and the other was hidden inside the box for a little surprise. This hidden message adds an extra layer of thoughtfulness and fun to the gift.

Using the Inside Boxes:

The inside little boxes are perfect for tucking in gift tags or a gift card. Imagine the recipient’s delight as they pull out the boxes to discover little treasures inside. It’s these thoughtful details that make handmade gifts so special.
