Whitewash Technique:

So, you maybe wondering what in the world is the whitewash technique. Well, it's actually a way to double emboss your background panel and add shine and texture with ease. I am going to explain it step by step below so don't worry.

The first thing you are going to do is take a piece of either the WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock - A4 (UK A4 Cardstock Link) or WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock - A5 (UK A5 Cardstock Link) and cut it down to your desired card front size. Pick out your embossing folder, and ink up the embossing folder with the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad

Place your cardstock inside the embossing folder and run it through your die cutting and embossing machine. Remove the cardstock and apply WOW! Opaque Bright White (Opaque Bright White UK Link) and heat set. You don't want complete coverage, because you are going to add a little ink blending later.

Once you have the embossing completed and it has cooled completely you can pick your chosen ink colors and do your ink blending over the doubled ink bossed background. I chose to do an ombre of colors that would match the rest of my card.

Cut the panel down to your desired card front size and attach to a thin mat layer. Attach to the card base with liquid adhesive.  While the ink blending is drying you can work on the focal image and the sentiment.

For the focal image pick our chosen outline stamp set and stamp it using the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad. Cover the image with  WOW! Platinum Embossing Powder (Platinum Embossing Powder UK Link) and heat set. Use your favorite watercolor media to color up your image. Cut it out with your matching dies. Attach to the card front with foam adhesive.

Now for the sentiment, take the sentiment panel from the WOW! Fab Foilers - Love & Hugs (Love & Hugs Fab Foilers UK Link) and place a piece of WOW! Fab Foil - Teal (Teal Fab Foil UK Link) and run through your laminator. Once you have the sentiment you want and cut down to size. Place the sentiment on a thin mat layer and pop up with foam adhesive.

To finish the card you are going to want to add a few Cosmic Rhinestone Embellishments (from Pajama Crafter Stamps).  These are a great pick because they are an opaque black that sparkles and has a shiny iridescent quality. Depending on what color you put them up against you see different colors pop out.
