Hey crafty friends! I'm thrilled to be joining WOW Embossing Powder to celebrate their latest release of stunning embossing powders. The Design Team and special guests are sharing inspiration using this fabulous new release, and you're invited to join the party!
WOW is generously offering THREE lucky winners the entire May 2024 release, and you can get all the details on how to enter further down this post. But first, let’s dive into some card-making inspiration!
WOW! May 2024 Release Blog Hop:
A Night on the Town Duo
For my first card, I used the WOW! A Night on the Town Duo. This marks the debut of WOW!'s new line of Duos, offering twice the glamour in one set! This duo features rich, vibrant colors perfect for creating an elegant, glamorous feel. Included in our first duo are Sparkling Sunset (a vibrant orange hue with hints of red, infused with a mesmerizing array of golden sparkles. Picture yourself amidst glamorous early summer nights, illuminated by the fiery hues of a breathtaking sunset.) And A Glass of Fizz
(which features a rich red with subtle undertones of orange, adorned with golden sparkles reminiscent of a refreshing glass of fizz on a balmy summer evening).
Embossing Powder Stencil Technique
Place your stencil over your cardstock.
Using a domed blending tool, apply Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink through the stencil.
Sprinkle the embossing powders from the A Night on the Town Duo over the inked areas.
Heat set the powders with your heat tool to reveal the gorgeous, glossy finish.
Pro Tip: When applying the embossing ink through the stencil, make sure to use a light hand. This helps prevent the ink from seeping under the stencil and ensures crisp lines.
For the sentiment, I swiped the Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink over a piece of WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock, applied two layers of the embossing powder, heat set it, and then die-cut the sentiment. This technique not only ties the sentiment perfectly with the card but also adds a cohesive, polished look.
Trio Speckled Pearls
Next, I played with the WOW! Trio Speckled Pearls. These embossing powders add a beautiful pearlescent speckle to any design, giving it an elegant touch. The WOW! Trio Speckled Pearls has the following powders included Speckled Egg (with a delightful blend of soft green, violet pearl, and ebony, evoking the delicate beauty of a speckled egg), Speckled Sage (featuring a refreshing combination of lime green, green pearl, and ebony, reminiscent of a serene sage garden), and Speckled Turquoise (with a vibrant mix of turquoise, blue pearl, and ebony).
Embossing Powder Stencil Technique
Position your stencil and apply Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink using a domed blending tool.
Add each color from the Speckled Pearls Trio to the inked design.
Heat set to achieve a lovely, speckled pearl effect.
Pro Tip: To avoid cross-contamination of colors, clean your stencil and blending tool between each color application. This ensures that each section maintains its true, vibrant color.
For this card’s sentiment, I repeated the process of inking, embossing, and die-cutting from WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock. This method not only creates a matching sentiment but also adds a layer of texture and shine that elevates the overall design.
Trio Candy Buffet
Lastly, I couldn’t resist using the WOW! Trio Candy Buffet. These fun, bright colors are perfect for a cheerful, playful card. The WOW! Trio Candy Buffet includes the following powders; Fairy Clouds (a dreamy powder has a frosty lilac undertone, adorned with iridescent sparkles that shimmer like pure fairy dust), Rock Crystals that features a mesmerizing blend of frosty purple hues with hints of blue, packed with an iridescent sparkle that captures the essence of precious gemstones), and last but not least Grapefruit Fizzo Embossing Sparkles (boasting a luscious, heavy purple base infused with an iridescent sparkle, reminiscent of the effervescence of grapefruit fizz).
Embossing Powder Stencil Technique
Apply Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink through your stencil design using a domed blending tool.
Sprinkle the powders from the Candy Buffet Trio over the inked areas.
Heat set to reveal the vibrant, candy-colored finish.
Pro Tip: Experiment with layering the different colors from the Candy Buffet Trio. This can create a unique, multi-dimensional look that adds extra interest to your card.
For the sentiment, I once again used the Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink over WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock, added two layers of embossing powder, and die-cut the sentiment.
This consistent technique across all three cards helps maintain a cohesive theme while allowing the colors and designs to shine. Plus it allowed me to show off all the new embossing powders on the same style card with the same technique allowing you to see just how different each of the new products look. So, which is your favorite the Candy Buffet Trio, the Speckled Pearls Trio, or the A Night on the Town Duo?
