Hello and welcome to my blog today I have a fun little card to share with you using the Play, Learn, Grow Stamp Set from The Rabbit Hole Designs. In today's card I am feeling the back to school and Fall vibes. I used one of the backgrounds that I made a few weeks back for the card front and added some additional details to make the focal image stand out even more.
If you are interested in how I created the background panels for this card and the one that I shared a few weeks ago you can find that blog post here!
Play, Learn, Grow:
My main focal image and sentiment for today's card comes from the Play, Learn, Grow Stamp Set by The Rabbit Hole Designs. It was illustrated by Agota Pop; and is of so cute. There are three owls in the set and each one is posed in a different way, and each one has something with them that has to do with going back to school. This is the perfect set for anyone going back to school; no matter the age.
And it also has some great back to school themed sentiments as well. One of which I used on my card today. But the others in the set are "Hoo's Ready for School?", "Play, Learn, Grow", and "Hoot Hoot Hooray it's your First Day!". See I told you it was perfect.
Scrappy Card:
For the strips on the card I used a mix of patterned paper from the Spooky Patterned Paper Collection and white cardstock. All the colored pieces that you see are backsides from one of the patterned paper in the collection. I love that Scrapbook.com gives you some solid pieces in their paper pads. This makes it super easy to craft with.
I took some scraps of the paper from this pad and cut them out with my new favorite die set. I used the Slimline Strip Dies to cut out each one. In the die set you get four different dies and each one cuts out a different sized strip. And the best part is I know they are all perfectly straight cuts. No more worrying about trying to line up strips and they are a little off.
To finish off the card I cut off my strips and then placed the card in my Misti. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. The owl was stamped with Intense Black Ink from Hero Arts. I used the Intense Black because it's actually alcohol marker friendly when dried.
I colored the owl before fussy cutting him out with my Altenew Artist Markers. The white chalk detail was added to the chalk board with a white gel pen. I then added my the owl up with some foam adhesive. And then added a few Clear Sparkle Enamel Dots to the card front.
